Biography:
Dr. Wenfu Zhang is working as a professor in State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics(SKLTOP), Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is also the deputy director of SKLTOP of XIOPM, and a professor of school of future technology, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). He received his PhD in optical engineering from UCAS in Dec. 2011. During Oct. 2009 to Nov. 2011 he worked as a visiting student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of McMaster, Hamilton, Canada. He is the leader of Innovative Research Teams of Photonic Integration& Micro/nano Photonics in Shaanxi Province, China. He is awarded as Young top-notch talent, and been selected by the Nova Program of Shaanxi Province, China.
His research interests include integrated photonics, nonlinear optics and micro/nano photonics, including planar waveguide & devices, Kerr optical frequency combs, mode-locked lasers, and micro-structure devices. He authored and co-authored more than 40 refereed journal papers in Optics Letters, ACS Photonics, Advanced Optical Materials etc.. 2 book chapters, received more than 10 patents, delivered more than 20 invited conference presentations. He served as reviewer for Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Optics Letters, Optics Express, Applied Optics, Optics Communications, and Journal of Lightwave Technology. His recent achievements containing soliton and pulsed laser generation based on doping silica micro-ring resonator, low-threshold bistable grating, and Spin-Hall effect in dielectric metamaterials.
