On Nov. 6, 2014, the award ceremony of the 16th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) was held at N2, with more than 2100 units from 27 countries participating in the exhibition. The awards include Honorary Award, Gold Award, Silver Award, Innovation Gold Award, Innovation Silver Award, Innovation Award, Industrial Design Excellence Award and Outstanding Organization Award, etc. After going through the steps like project declaration, selection before exhibition and appraisal on exhibition, Ultra-Fast Laser Micro-Processing Equipment developed by the team led by Yang Xiaojun from Photon Manufacture System and Applied Research Center of State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics was granted the Silver Award in the fair. During the exhibition, the said equipment received high attention from the public and gained high appraise from Wu Bangguo who was a member of Politburo Standing Committee and chairman of NPC Standing Committee.
Ultra-Fast Laser Micro-Processing Equipment of XIOPM won the 2nd prize (silver award). The equipment is able to deal with micro-processing of almost any kind of materials, such as metal, ceramic, non-conductive materials, multi-layer composite materials, high hardened materials and fragile material, etc., and is equipped with many micro-processing functions including microcavity, mold cavity, blind hole, through-hole, heterotypic hole, heterotypic groove, cutting and milling etc.
The R&D of the said equipment is conducted based on strategic deployment and new discipline layout designed by XIOPM leaders, finally realized technical breakthrough relating to ultra-fast laser micro-processing equipment development and application after three-year endeavor of the research team under the leadership of Yang Xiaojun and made it possible to applying the equipment in the fields of aviation engine, aerospace craft, automobile engine as well as micro-electronics. Besides, a certain type of blade ultra-fast laser micro-porous molding equipment has been applied by an enterprise of China Aviation Industry Group, its manufacture level for high quality received recognition from Design and Utilization Unit of the Group, and the series of products will be promoted to all enterprises of the group. It is particularly worth mentioning here that the said product helped solve many technical problems occurred in the process of micro-machining important parts of aerospace crafts and got high appraise from subordinate units of CASIC.
