The 11th Annual Meeting on Photonics West China was successfully held in Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of CAS on December 21, 2019.
The conference was co-sponsored by Shaanxi Optical Society and the High Speed Photography and Photonics Committee of Chinese Optical Society, and was jointly hosted by Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of CAS, State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonic Technology, Xi'an Shiyou University and Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of CAS.
Yao Baoli, the director of the State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonic Technology, presided over the opening ceremony. Ma Caiwen, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director (presiding over the work) of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of CAS, delivered the opening speech first.
The five well-known domestic experts of Professor Cai Yangjian, Professor Chen Tongsheng, Researcher Xu Xiulai, Professor Zhu Tao and Professor Shao Xiaopeng made conference reports on the themes of “Coherence Regulation of Light Field”, “Automatic Quantitative FRET Microscopic Imager and Its Applications”, “Regulation and Expansion of Solid-State Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics System”, “Controllable Laser and Precision Measurement” and “New Opportunities and Challenges of Computational Imaging” respectively. Editor Guo Juan, the director of the Editorial Department of the Acta Photonica Sinica, took the theme of “Construction of First-Class Periodicals of XIOPM” and introduced to the delegates the preparation of the new high-starting issue of Ultrafast Science and the development of the Acta Photonica Sinica.

In the afternoon, the conference opened a sub-venue A with the theme of transient photonics and laser micro-nano processing, fiber optics and integrated optics, and a sub-venue B, which focuses on micro-nano photonics, information photon technology and applications, aerospace optics and photoelectric engineering, a total of 34 delegates exchanged oral reports and 26 delegates exchanged posted reports. In addition, 124 reports were received at this conference.
Finally, after the selection, 9 delegates won the Award for Outstanding Academic Papers, including Jing Yongkang’s Research on Far-field Laser Spot Image Detection Algorithm, Chen Zeyu’s High Resolution Snapshot Imaging Spectral Polarization Technology, Yuan Xun’s Optical Diffraction Tomography with Multi-angle Illumination Using Hemispherical LED Array, Niu Chen’s Transverse Effect of Superradiation in Rubidium Atomic Vapor, Duan Lina’s Ultrashort Pulse Fiber Laser and Its Application, Zheng Li’s 1 GHz Kerr Lens Mode-Locked Yb: KGW Laser, Wang Xi’s Application of New Nonlinear Nanomaterials in Solid-State Pulsed Lasers, Yao Jingjing’s Real-time Visualization Research on Thermally Induced Nonlinear and Nucleophilic Addition Reactions of Organic Solvents, and Qian Jiaming’s High Precision Unconstrained Dynamic Real-time 360-degree Omnidirectional Point Cloud Acquisition Technology Based on Fringe Projection.
As an annual academic exchange event of Shaanxi Optical Society, this conference has been successfully held for 11 times and has an important influence in the fields of optics and photonics in the western region. This conference has created favorable conditions and exchange platforms for Shaanxi Optical Society to deepen exchanges and cooperation, enhance its influence and promote the development of optical technology in the local area.
