The Doctoral Dissertation of XIOPM Graduate Zhang Wenfu Was Selected as Shaanxi Excellent Doctoral DissertationsThe appraisal result of Shaanxi Excellent Doctoral Dissertations 2014 was revealed a few days ago, with 79 being selected as Shaanxi Excellent Doctoral Dissertations, of which “Research on Micro-nano Photonic Waveguide and Functional Devices” written by Zhang Wenfu under the instruction of XIOPM Director Zhao Wei was awarded the honor which was also the only one being selected of scientific research institutes within the whole province.

Doctor Zhang Wenfu was admitted to XIOPM in March 2008 and stayed in Canada Mcmaster University for cooperative study from 2009 to 2011. In January 2012, he was conferred the doctorate and began to work in XIOPM by virtue of outstanding graduate title. Doctor Zhang Wenfu is mainly engaged in theoretical research, application and development of micro-nano photonic devices and his research orientation includes micro-nano waveguide theory and fabrication, nonlinear waveguide and micro-nano sensor as well as on-chip optical communication devices. He now holds the posts of Associate Researcher of XIOPM State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics and Executive Vice Director of Micor-Nano Photonic Joint Research Center.

Doctor Zhang Wenfu achieved a series of research results during his studying as a doctor and published over 10 papers on international academic journals such as APL、OL、PRB、OE、IEEE PTL. He was awarded Excellent Dean Scholarship Prize of CAS in 2012, Young New Scientific and Technological Star of Shaanxi Province in 2014. Besides, he is a member of Specialized Committee of Fibre Optics and Photonic Integration, COS.
