On July 25, The 8^th congress of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology was closed successfully. Member of the Standing Committee and Head of Organization Department Mao Wanchun attended the closing ceremony and made an important speech. Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of Standing Committee, Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology Hu Yan presided over the closing ceremony.  

The 1^st plenary session of the 8^th Committee Meeting and Standing Committee Meeting were held during the congress and new leading organs were elected. Jiang Zhuangde, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), was elected as Chairman of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, and Hu Yan Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology. Meanwhile, another 18 vice chairmen, 48 members of Standing Committee and 1 secretary-general were elected on the congress. Director of XIOPM Zhao Wei was elected as Vice Chairman of The 8^th Committee of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, Secretary of Party Committee, XIOPM and deputy director of XIOPM Ma Caiwen was elected as Standing Committee Member of The 8^th Committee of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology.
