Academician Gu Yidong Is Invited to Make Academic Report to XIOPM’s Researchers

On April 12, Gu Yidong academician with CAS was invited to visit the Key Laboratory of Spectral Imaging Technology XIOPM and made an academic report titled with Introduction to Space Station Application Task Planning to the researchers. Deputy Director of XIOPM Wen Desheng, Deputy Director of Science and Management Department Wang Feng and Director of Key Laboratory of Spectral Imaging Technology XIOPM Hu Bingliang attended the meeting.

Academician Gu Yidong, an expert of aerospace application technology and aerostatics of our state, for long time conducted experimental study upon cosmic rays and high-energy astrophysics. He has organized and led the establishment of China’s high-altitude balloon scientific system and high-altitude balloon scientific survey and experiments for over one hundred times, resolving key technology problems appearing in high-altitude balloon design and research, promoting China’s high-altitude balloon scientific survey and extending application balloon technology fields like captive balloon.



Combining with his experience obtained from years of scientific research and work, academician Gu Yidong gave detailed introduction to multiple situations of space science, China’s manned space flight and its application, and planning of space station scientific tasks. He also gave detailed explanations to space application and space sciences which are closely related while have distinctive concepts. He encouraged researchers and graduates to be bold in innovation and emphasized that only the first discovery could be called scientific discovery and China’s scientific technology shall be entered into leading time from following time, realizing great breakthrough on science and technological innovation.

Academician Gu Yidong’s report not only upgraded researchers’ and students’ cognition to space science and application but also enhanced sense of commitment and responsibility of scientific innovation.





After the session, Gu Yidong visited the Key Laboratory of Spectral Imaging Technology. As the director of Academic Committee of Key Laboratories, Gu Yidong gave high-level advises upon the technology development of laboratory research.
