On the afternoon of June 19, the closing ceremony of the First Zutong Elite Class jointly organized by Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM) and Xidian University was held at Department of Graduate Education of XIOPM. Zhao Wei, director of XIOPM and Li Jiandong, vice-principal of Xidian University, Guo Baolong, division head of Academic Affairs Division and other principal persons, teachers of relevant departments of both parties, together with 30 students participated in the ceremony. The director of Department of Graduate Education Li Jinfang presided over the closing ceremony.

It is understood that the 30 students from First Zutong Elite Class were jointly trained in accordance with 3.5+5.0 mode, that is to say they received professional knowledge study at school from semester 1 to semester 7, and in semester 8, they took part in joint training in XIOPM. The teacher from XIOPM proposed graduation design topics by combining scientific research projects or engineering application condition for students to choose. The students from First Zutong Elite Class, on the basis of grasping professional theoretical knowledge, combined the theoretical knowledge studied at school and engineering practice of XIOPM together, made full use of strong scientific research resources advantage of XIOPM, and finished graduation design. They enriched knowledge, improved abilities, comprehensive quality and competitiveness in the practice.
In the closing ceremony, director Zhao Wei expressed his thanks to great support of Xidian University to Zutong Elite Class, and spoke highly of the students of the First Zutong Elite Class. He pointed that Zutong Elite Class is a new talent training mode conducted by XIOPM by combing science and education together with jointly cultivating talents plan to explore cooperation between university and institute, science and education combination and jointly cultivating talents. He also said that it has great significance to the aspects of the institute exploring jointly cultivating talents by university and institute and improving talents cultivating quality. He expressed his expectation for further cooperation with Xidian University and welcome Xidian University students to study and work in XIOPM.
In the closing ceremony, Li Jiandong expressed his thanks for the endeavor made by experts of XIOPM to Zutong Elite Class and congratulated the 30 students of the First Zutong Elite Class for their successful completion of study. He also expresses his deep appreciation for the high praise to the said students given by experts of XIOPM. He said it manifested that the student of the First Zutong Elite Class made a contribution to the establishment of Elite Class brand and formation of class culture, and they also set a good example to all students of Xidian University.
Afterwards, the teacher representative from XIOPM and student representative from the First Zutong Elite Class made the speech. Li Jiandong, Zhao Wei and others issued the Completion Certification for the 30 students.
