“Advanced Optical Materials Technology” academic salon was held in meeting room of F4, Zutong Building on the morning of Apr. 25, which marked that “Get a Thorough Understanding of XIOPM” Series Academic Salon Activities of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, XIOPM officially raised the curtain. This academic salon was co-organized by Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) and FEMTO Technology (Xi’an) Co., Ltd. and participated by all members of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, XIOPM, part of young researchers and postgraduates. The said activities were conducted by means of combining conference report and site visit.

On the report meeting, Doctor Xue Bin, chairman of Xi’an Branch of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS and member of The Spectral Imaging Technique Laboratory of our institute, firstly introduced organizational structure of and activities planed to be conducted in 2013 by Xi’an Branch of Youth Innovation Promotion Association. He hoped that all members of Youth Innovation Promotion Association could take active part in research projects of Youth Innovation Promotion Association and participate in all kinds of academic and investigation activities organized thereby, so as to conduct work of Youth Innovation Promotion Association effectively and solidly.

Hereafter, Doctor Guo Haitao from Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) and Doctor Mi Lei, executive deputy general manager of FEMTO Technology (Xi’an) Co., Ltd. respectively made detailed introduction on main research direction, recent research development of important projects, industrialization information and other aspects of Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) , FEMTO Technology (Xi’an) Co., Ltd. and OCT & Biomedical Imaging Engineering Center. They also led the attendees visiting Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) and Gradient Refractive Index Lens Opticals Cold Machining Workshop of FEMTO Technology (Xi’an) Co., Ltd., helping attendees getting a deeper understanding of research focus, application direction and industrialization progress information of glass and fiber optical materials of our institute and laying a good foundation for conducting cross cooperation between departments in the future.

Youth Innovation Promotion Association will continue to hold this kind of special academic salon activities with characteristics in the future to establish platform for research personnel and postgraduates of our institute to exchange and communicate.
