Cao Jianzhong and Some Researchers of XIOPM Win the CAS Wang Kuancheng Talent Award of 2012

On April 20, the winners of the CAS Wang Kuancheng Talent Award of 2012 were announced. Trough experts’ deliberation and approval of Wang Kuancheng Education foundation, 120 scholars who were recommended by the units won the CAS Wang Kuancheng Talent Award of 2012. Researcher Cao Jianzhong of XIOPM was honored with the CAS Wang Kuancheng Outstanding Contribution Award to Western Scholars, Doctor Wan Rengang was honored with the CAS Wang Kuancheng Working Award Fund to Post Doctorates and Researcher Ren Liyong was honored with the Wang Kuancheng International Conference Projects Funds of 2012.

Jointly funded by Hong Kong Wang Kuancheng Educational Foundation and CAS, the CAS Wang Kuancheng Education Foundation Program aims at setting up and subsidizing international conferences, visiting scholars and overseas training, scientific research bonus, talent award and so on. The CAS Wang Kuancheng Outstanding Contribution Award to Western Scholars was a new program that set up in 2008 by CAS Wang Kuancheng Talent Working Award and it focuses on increasing support to young scientific talents of western research institutes, crowning the excellent young scholars who settle in and volunteer to the West and make outstanding contributions to the science and local economic constructions, encouraging them to devote themselves into the development of science and technology of our country. Since its establishment, five excellent young scientific researchers of XIOPM, Yao Baoli, Zhao Wei, Ma Caiwen, Yang Jianfeng and Cao Jianzhong, has successively won this honor.

CAS Wang Kuancheng Working Award Fund to Post Doctorates is set up to encourage and attract more PhD graduates to engage in scientific research in the research center, promote the construction of postdoctoral teams, train the reserve of young talents and inspire them to innovate. Every year, the award is granted to 50 excellent post doctorates (excluding the foreign post doctorates) who work in the postdoctoral research center for about one year.

Every year, Wang Kuancheng International Conference Projects Funds selects 30 outstanding scientists with senior or higher professional technological post and aids them to attend the international academic conference in the field overseas, providing them an opportunity to contact with the world scientific leading edge, widen their international vision and inspire the conception of innovation.
