XIOPM Undertakes the National Major Scientific Research Equipment Project for the First Time

Recently, learned from Office of Science and Technology Condition of Bureau of Planning and Finance, CAS, the National Major Scientific Research Equipment Project—High-performance Streak Camera declared by XIOPM has been approved, which is the first National Major Scientific Research Equipment Project since the establishment of XIOPM. The execution of this project will greatly promote the disciplinary system construction, platform construction, and talent group construction of XIOPM in the field of Ultrafast Diagnosis.

Ultrafast Phenomena (duration time less than 1 μs) has widely appeared in the research of nature or science research, such as photosynthesis process of plants, electrical impulse generated from ultra large scale integration circuit, carrier lifetime of semiconductor materials, ultrafast light excited state relaxation process, molecular dynamics process of chemical reaction, and fluorescence emission of biological material. Thus high time and space precise physical quantity diagnosis technology with ultrahigh (ps~fs) time resolution, high spatial resolution, high sensitivity, and large dynamic measurement capacity is the important indispensable means in the field of ultrafast phenomena research. As the only ultrafast phenomena linear diagnostic tool with high time and space resolution at present, High-performance Streak Camera has played an irreplaceable function in the research of ultrafast phenomena of time resolution, and has great importance for the research and technology field of natural science, energy, materials, biology, photophysics, photochemistry, laser technology, strong light physics, and high-energy physics.
