On August 15, Jia Qinglin, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC visited XIOPM of CAS in company with the Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Committee of CPC Zhao Leji, Shaanxi Provincial Governor Zhao Zhengyong, and the Secretary of Xi'an Municipal Committee Sun Qingyun. The Director of XIOPM Zhao Wei, and secretary of the Party Committee Wu Wenbin warmly welcomed them.

Jia Qinglin cares much about the Hi-tech achievement transformation of scientific research institutes. He watched the demonstration of high speed space laser communication technology, demonstration of new type large gamut projector, stage sample of digital ultrafast light valve display chip, various high power semiconductor laser, 400w industrial all-fiber laser, optical fiber gyro, optical fiber current transformer, fluorescence fiber temperature sensor, new type high-energy battery, and special optical function materials. He was pleased to see that XIOPM has promoted the achievement transformation effectively through new scientific research mode of talents + subjects + industry. He said that research institutes should push forward the hi-tech transformation, and promote the mature of Hi-tech enterprises to serve the national economic construction and demands of people's livelihood.

After the visit to XIOPM, Jia Qinglin has also visited Xi'an Focuslight Technologies Co., Ltd established by XIOPM and several returned oversea personnel. He visit the workshop of semiconductor laser packaging, optical test, and life test, learned about the product performance, technology research and development, and market prospect, and watched the demonstration experiment of high-power semiconductor laser processing and application.
Jia Qinglin stoped the visit to XIOPM at about 5:20 pm. Before leaving, he gladly invited Director Zhao Wei, Secretary Wu Wenbin, and returned oversea personnel from Xi'an Focuslight Technologies Co., Ltd to take photo together.
