The expert panel of Financial Planning Administration Bureau and High-Tech Bureau visited XIOPM and evaluated the key laboratory of spectral imaging of CAS, on June 10.

The key laboratory of spectral imaging was established in December 2008 approved by CAS. Major research directions are interference spectral imaging and other spectral imaging technology. Since its establishment, the lab is oriented to the world frontier of science and technology and national strategic demands, the core of the research is spectral imaging technology, the objective is information acquisition resolution with high spectrum, space, and time, and through principles innovation, breakthroughs of key techniques, integrated innovation, and application research, the lab constantly improves the innovation capacity. This corresponds with the long-term national science and technology development plan and the scientific layout of CAS. The lab has obtained several innovative achievements in research of theory of spectral imaging, spatial modulation interference image spectroscopy, space-time modulation spectral imaging technology, new spectral imaging technology, and integrated process of spectral data technology. The hyperspectral imager successfully applied to the fields of Chinese Lunar Exploration Project and environment disaster relief, and has obtained six awards above provincial level including The Second-Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award. The research team of the lab is mainly composed of young and middle-aged with rational structure, and the lab carries out active international and domestic cooperation, and has formed omni-directional and multi-level technology cooperation pattern. It carries out active academic exchange and achieved remarkable results. It has complete rules and regulations, standard management and operation, harmonious scientific research collaboration, rich academic atmosphere. With the support of XIOPM, the lab has a bright developing trend.

During the period at XIPOM, the expert panel listened to the work report by Yang Jianfeng, the director of the lab. His report includes introduction to the lab, task and achievements, team construction and personnel training, cooperation and exchange, and summary and outlook. Later on, five research experts including Hu Bingliang made representative achievements academic report in their own research fields and directions, and answered the questions of the experts.

The evaluation panel has investigated the key laboratory of spectral imaging technology. They have learned about situation of the scientific research progress, instrument and equipment, and scientific research team construction, searched the experiment records, equipment operation records and relevant rules and regulations, and communicated with the researchers. The experts gave objective and just evaluation on the situation of lab positioning, achievements, talented team construction, domestic and foreign cooperation, and the operating mechanism. Expert panel also put forward objective and fair opinions and suggestions on the problems of the lab. They hope that the lab can absorb more high-level talents and enhance team optimization for the next stage.
