ProfessorGilbert Bourdet is a professor with the Polytechnique Paris, ranking top in the four big universities of France. He was born in France in June 1944, graduated from Ecole Superieure E’ Optics in 1968, won Master degree of quantum optics in 1974 and worked as doctor tutor in 1988. Since 2000 he has been director of Strong Laser Laboratory, CNRS, France. His main research fields at present: diode pump strong laser generation and application. He has made many researches in adaptive optics, laser ranging, carbon dioxide laser, laser array, laser radar, far infrared laser short pulse generation, ammonia molecule laser, 2mm laser, Yb3+ laser medium and diode-pumped solid state laser, etc.
