The 14th International Conference on Polymer Optical Fiber is held between 20-22 September, which is sponsored by City University of Hong Kong. 200 experts, scholars and delegates from over 20 countries participated in this conference. The International Conference on Polymer Optical Fiber is a magnificent meeting of optoelectronic field. Moreover, the conference aims at promoting the research and application of plastic fiber.

XIOPM has carried out the research on polymer optical fiber for many years. In 2005, our institute also undertook a Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation----“*Polymer optical fiber and the device key applied basic research”. During this conference, four experts from our institute did three oral presentations and two posters who also took the 36 Photonic crystal micro-structure of polymer optical fiber preform produced by PMMA Monomer. This achievement was deeply concerned by many experts and scholars.
