“2006 China-Italy Bilateral Workshop on Photonics for Communication and Sensing” will be held during October 23-24, 2006, in Xi’an, China. This academic grand meeting, which focuses on photonics for communication and sensing, is initiated by scientific organizations both from China and Italy. It also stands for a high-level communication in this field for both countries. President of CNIT, Prof. Giancarlo Prati together with over 40 experts will arrive in Xi’an for a two-day communication. The conference is sponsored by Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni, Italy and Sculoa Soperiore Sant’ Anna, Italy, and which is organized by Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, CAS.
