30th International Congress on High-Speed Imaging and Photonics was held from September 16 to 21, 2012 in CSIR (The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) in Pretoria of South Africa. On the meeting, the experts and scholars conducted in-depth exchange and discussion upon the latest research achievements and the application technologies in the field of high-speed imaging and photonics. Researcher Zhao Baosheng and assistant researchers Sheng Lizhi and Liu Yong’an with XIOPM participated in the congress and gave oral reports which are titled “An X-ray simulation Source for Pulsar Navigation Laboratory Experiment”and“A X-ray detector with ultra-fast time response and high-sensitivity”. Through six-day extensive and profound communication, the meeting was brought to a successful close in the afternoon on September 21. On the meeting, the 31st International Congress on High-Speed Imaging and Photonics was determined to be held in Poland in 2014.

Since 1952, the “International Congress on High-Speed Photography and Photonics” is held internationally every two years and it was renamed “International Congress on High-Speed Imaging and Photonics” on 28th session in 2008. Since the foundation, XIOPM, as the representative of China, would appoint researchers to attend the meeting each session. It provides researchers of XIOPM an excellent platform for getting information of international academic treads and making many international friends. XIOPM successfully held the 18th International Congress on High-Speed Photography and Photonics in 1988 and the 27th International Congress on High-Speed Photography and Photonics in 2006. Director Gong Zutong and Zhao Wei with XIOPM had won the top prize in the field of high-speed imaging on the congress.
