The 2nd SPIE International Symposium on Advanced Optical Manufacturing and Testing Technologies is held in Xi’an

The 2nd SPIE International Symposium on Advanced Optical Manufacturing and Testing Technologies, sponsored by The Chinese Optical Society, Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and The International Society for Optical Engineering, was held during Dec. 2-5 in Xi’an. This conference aims at discussing development and future of international advanced optical manufacturing. Over 800 experts, scholars, and delegates from home and abroad participated the conference.

Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics acts as one of co-sponsors and host to the conference. Prof. HOU Xun, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, holds the post of advisor of the meeting. Executive deputy director of XIOPM, Prof. ZHAO Wei takes the chair of program committee, and Prof. ZHOU Renkui occupies the vice secretary-general of the conference. After the opening ceremony on Dec. 2, invited famous experts extended their presentations. In the afternoon, executive deputy director, Prof. ZHAO Wei also chaired the plenary session. During the banquet in the evening, deputy director, Prof. LV Jiancheng on behalf of our institute made a welcome address to delegates from home and abroad.

After four days excellent reports including plenary presentations, invited presentations, poster session and other technical lectures, the 2nd SPIE International Symposium on Advanced Optical Manufacturing and Testing Technologies successfully came to a close. The success of this conference will promote development of advanced optical manufacture and test research.
